Woodbine breeding philosophy centers around breeding hunting dogs who can live in the home as the family pet/hunting dog. We have a strict puppy placement policy--and only place puppies in homes where we would feel comfortable visiting. Elsie's worst fear for the pups is that they might someday end up at a shelter or a puppy mill. Because of these fears, our puppy contract states that we welcome all puppies back at any point in their lifetime. The pups health is covered in the contract as well.
All of our personal dogs used for the breeding program at Woodbine have, at a minimum, OFA certified hips, eye ACVO exams, and proof of PFK  & PRA normal / non-carrier status.  You can check our individual dogs page for their health clearances by clicking on their names and then scrolling down. We have all clearances listed on their page. Woodbine puppies are sold on AKC Limited Registration and a contract detailing the steps necessary to switch a dog to AKC Full registration for Field trial dogs or a spay/neuter contract for all pet/ hunting dogs. All pups have a complete physical and first vaccination by the  Fryeburg Veterinary hospital at eight weeks. Between seven & eight weeks the litter will be taken to a Veterinary Ophthalmologist to have eye exams. Puppies go to their new home at 8 weeks...
