BIO:

DOB 7/14/2001 Sammy came to Woodbine on April fools day, 2003. This beautiful boy was an early birthday present from Bob to Elsie--a very special dog who would soon become Elsie's favorite four legged friend. Sammy is Elsie's constant companion who sleeps in the bed until Bob retires for the night, then easily moving to his L.L. Bean dog bed sporting his name, "SAMWISE" embroidered in big block letters. Sammy goes to work each day with Elsie and loves riding in the front seat (on the nicely heated leather seats--a must for a special boy during Maine's harsh winters!). He hangs out snoozing under Elsie's desk all morning, helping her take care of Bob's business. His highlight of the day is going threw the drive up to make deposits at the bank where he gets a special treat. Sammy loves all especially the grandchildren showering them with kisses each time he sees them. His best buddy is the cat (but don't tell Maggie, who thinks she holds that position!), and the two are often seen cuddling together. Sammy is a dog who was able to have a great competitive career in the field, going back and forth between WI and Maine, always remaining Elsie's special boy. He never forgot for a minute who loved him. Sammy is Elsie's once in a lifetime dog and she appreciates him more every day.

In 2008 Sammy will only run HT and FT that Bob can go to remaining at Woodbine, After all it is time for this special dog to be exactly what he should be Elsie's beloved house pet....

Note from Elsie, Several folks have inquired about breeding to our boy. Sammy is not available for stud service. I have always said less is more . I feel responsible for every pup that Sammy produces. This is difficult to do when I am not the breeder and I have to be able to sleep at night. I like to follow the pups sired by my boy by having an open communication with the puppies owner. While at Lighthouse Sammy was bred by his breeder and sired 3 litters . Unfortunately with the exception of a couple of folks open communication has proven impossible. This is by no way a reflection on Sammy's breeder but from a geographic stand point.
